Our Commitment

PropertyGenome is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Conformance Status

PropertyGenome is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to remediate known gaps.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. The following known issues exist and are being addressed:

  • Interactive maps (Investment Map, Driving for Dollars) — Map layers and property pin popups may not be fully navigable by keyboard or screen reader. We are working to add keyboard controls and ARIA live regions for map state changes.
  • Data charts and score visualizations — Some chart components may not expose underlying data in a text-alternative format accessible to screen readers. We are adding descriptive titles and data tables as fallbacks.
  • Third-party embeds — Google Street View and Mapbox map tiles are third-party content; their accessibility is governed by the respective providers’ policies.
  • PDF exports — Exported PDF reports are not currently tagged for screen reader accessibility. Tagged PDFs are on our roadmap.

Technical Specifications

PropertyGenome is built with React (Next.js) and relies on the following technologies for conformance:

  • HTML5 semantic elements
  • WAI-ARIA roles, states, and properties (e.g., role="dialog", aria-modal, aria-label, aria-describedby)
  • WCAG 2.1 AA colour contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
  • Keyboard-navigable interactive elements with visible focus indicators
  • Form inputs with associated labels and error announcements via role="alert"

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant national authority responsible for web accessibility compliance in your jurisdiction. In the United States, this includes the U.S. Department of Justice (Civil Rights Division) and the U.S. Access Board under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
